At Bold Motion Studios, we’re proud to shine a light on The Buddy Bench, a heartfelt project we’ve been working on with the Limerick Mental Health Association. It's all about tackling the growing issue of loneliness in our towns and cities and helping break the stigma around asking for help.

By placing specially marked benches throughout Limerick city and county, we’re creating small but powerful spaces where anyone can signal a need for connection, no words needed. These benches are simple gestures that say “It’s okay to reach out.” They’re here to spark conversations, offer comfort and remind us that support is always close by.

We started this project by sitting down with the Limerick Mental Health Team and brainstorming idea's for the promotional advert that is simple yet powerful, ,much like the buddy bench system itself. Once we brainstormed an idea we put it down into a storyboard which gave us a visual idea of the video.

once we had all agreed on the storyboard we picked a location where the buddy bench was going to be installed, hired an actor and actress to feature in the promo and act out the scene's dipicted in the storyboard and set a date for shooting. On the dy of the shoot we went over the storyboard with the actor/actress a final time and proceeded to film

once we finished shooting we started work on post production. one of the biggest changes we made was the graphics that depicted the emotions of the person, we felt that it took away from the seriousness of the core message of the video.
